PowerPlay is a grants program through Hydro One Inc. to support and enhance sports and recreation facilities in communities served by Hydro One. Grants of up to $25,000 are available for capital projects for community centres, indoor or outdoor ice rinks, playgrounds, splash pads, and sports fields.

Northwestern Healthy Living Project
Community Contribution Project is a grant program through the Northwestern Health Unit for organizations and groups in the community to assist with community-based physical activity, nutrition and tobacco-free living programming. Funds are available up to $1000.

The Community In Action Fund (CIAF) aims to help bring about a physical activity and community sport culture in Ontario by helping local and provincial not-for-profit organizations provide and enhance opportunities for physical activity through community sport and recreation. Eligible program applicants can receive non-capital funding for projects falling under one or a combination of categories covering planning, implementation, and/or development.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation has created a new granting initiative. The new Future Fund will set aside a pool of funding each year to support community initiatives to enhance the future of Ontario communities. In its inaugural year the Future Fund will strengthen the impact of organizations working on environment issues by enhancing leadership and building capacity through investments in innovation and collaboration.

Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiatives (MIII). This program is open to municipalities of all sizes and capital investments in all classes of municipal infrasture. The competitive MIII program will be open for applications on January 11, 2008, closing on February 15, 2008. Applications must be endorsed by council.
